Stained Glass Gallery

Elizabeth Lyle's interest in stained glass was sparked relatively recently by her desire to paint with the brilliance and permanence of this artform. Her body of work in this field is growing with her experience. She enjoys the meditative qualities of stained glass and the way it glimmers and glistens with the transient rays of sunlight. Each glass work changes with the light of day, making it appear differently at all hours, gaining a myriad of depth with time.

Most recently, Elizabeth has been incorporating natural objects, feathers, seashells, and slices of agate rock, with bits of glass from her palette of colors. She has let these found objects influence the design itself, opening a new dimension for herself into this artform. Lately, Beth has also been exploring the formations of stained glass as candle lanterns and the way candlelight plays with the patterns and colors.
